Acuity Scheduling

Acuity sells appointment packages, subscriptions, memberships and gift certificates from the same booking page, which makes it a storefront for service businesses rather than only a meeting link. Strong for the right team.

The take

What is Acuity Scheduling?

Acuity Scheduling is online appointment scheduling software for service businesses. Clients book, reschedule or cancel appointments on a branded booking page, pay when they book, and get automatic confirmations and reminders. Acuity was founded in 2006 and acquired by Squarespace in 2019, and it now runs as a Squarespace company.

You do not need a Squarespace website. Acuity works on its own, with a Squarespace site, or embedded on any other site. It sits in our scheduling category next to Calendly and Cal.com, but it is aimed at businesses that sell time, such as salons, trainers, coaches and studios, rather than teams booking meetings.

How does Acuity Scheduling work?

Acuity is built around three parts: the booking page, payments and client data. You set up services and availability once, and clients book themselves around the clock.

Booking page and calendars

Each plan includes a set number of calendars, which Acuity uses as separate calendars per employee or location: 1 on Starter, 6 on Standard and 36 on Premium. Every plan offers unlimited services and appointments, client self-scheduling, automatic time zone conversion, and branding with your logo, colors and copy. Acuity syncs with Google Calendar, iCloud and Microsoft Outlook to prevent double-booking.

Payments, packages and memberships

Every plan accepts payments and deposits through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo. Standard and Premium add appointment packages (including payment plans), subscriptions, memberships and gift certificates.

Forms, reminders and waitlists

Custom intake forms collect client details and terms on every plan, along with confirmation, reminder and follow-up emails. Standard adds text message reminders and an appointment waitlist that notifies clients when a booked-out time opens.

How does Acuity Scheduling compare to Calendly and Cal.com?

Acuity is the payments-and-packages scheduler; Calendly and Cal.com are meeting schedulers.

Who uses Acuity Scheduling in 2026?

Acuity’s own customer stories come from fitness clubs, beauty studios, dog trainers and business services firms.

The common thread is a business that takes paid appointments from the public. A solo practitioner can run on Starter. A studio with several staff members needs Standard for 6 calendars, packages and text reminders. A clinic that needs a BAA, or a multi-location business with staff in different time zones, needs Premium. Our Acuity Scheduling pricing breakdown shows what each plan costs over a year.

When should you skip Acuity Scheduling?

  • You want to pay nothing. Acuity has a 7-day trial, then a paid plan.
  • You book internal or sales meetings, not paid appointments. Lead routing, round-robin and CRM-first scheduling are what Calendly’s Teams plan sells.
  • You need Salesforce natively. Acuity lists Salesforce sync through Zapier rather than a direct integration.
  • You need text reminders on the cheapest plan. SMS reminders start on Standard.

What integrations does Acuity Scheduling support?

Acuity lists integrations for calendars, video, email marketing, accounting and CRM. Calendars include Google Calendar, iCloud and Microsoft Outlook. Video meetings run on Zoom, Google Meet or GoToMeeting. Email marketing covers Squarespace Email Campaigns, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, Drip, ConvertKit and AWeber. Accounting covers QuickBooks and FreshBooks. Clients can also start bookings from Reserve with Google and from Facebook Business or Instagram pages, and Zapier connects Acuity to more than 500 other apps.

How much does Acuity Scheduling cost?
