Best AI Traffic Analytics Tools (2026): Mentionova $99, 2 Free

AI traffic analytics tools that track ChatGPT and Perplexity visits: Mentionova $99/mo, Peec AI $95, Otterly.AI $189, Goodie $295, Ahrefs and Semrush free.

By Marcus Reed, Go-to-Market Editor Updated October 30, 2026 Prices checked on official vendor pages October 30, 2026

The best AI traffic analytics tool for most teams is Mentionova, at $99 a month billed annually: pick it if you want ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude visits split out of GA4 and tied to the pages, conversions and citations behind them. Pick Goodie if you need revenue attribution for a large brand, Otterly.AI or Profound if your real question is which AI bots crawl your site, and skip paid tools entirely if a free count from Ahrefs Web Analytics is all you need. Every price and feature below comes from the vendor’s own site, captured October 30, 2026.

How did we pick these AI traffic analytics tools?

AI traffic analytics answers one question: what do AI answers actually send to your site? That splits into two jobs. The first is referral traffic, the people who click a cited link in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini and land on a page. The second is agent traffic, the bots such as GPTBot, ChatGPT-User and PerplexityBot that fetch your pages to build those answers. A tool made this list only if its own site shows at least one of those jobs.

  1. Official pages only. Every price, limit and feature comes from the vendor’s pricing or product page, captured October 30, 2026. No review sites, coupon sites or third-party traffic panels.
  2. Referral attribution first. Visits from AI answers are the number leadership asks about, so tools that tie AI sessions to landing pages and conversions ranked above tools that only count bots.
  3. The link back to visibility. A visit is more useful when you can see which citation earned it. We weighted tools that join traffic to prompts, citations or content.
  4. Setup cost. We noted whether each tool reads GA4, needs server or CDN access, or forwards logs.
  5. Free path. We noted every free tool and free trial listed on the vendor’s own site.

The ranking is editorial. For tools that track whether you are named in answers in the first place, see the best AI visibility tools and AI citation tracking tools.

Mentionova

Mentionova is an AI visibility platform built around agents. Its AI traffic analytics reads your GA4, pulls ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude out of the Referral bucket, and shows each engine’s visits by week, the pages they land on and how those visitors convert.

Best for

Marketing teams and agencies that need to show what AI search sends, and then do something about the pages that are not getting cited.

How it tracks AI traffic

You link the GA4 property you already run, in one click. Mentionova reads the sessions GA4 has already recorded, so there is no pixel, code or tag to add. Visits from AI assistants are separated from the rest of the Referral channel and charted week by week, then each visit is joined to the page it landed on and whether it converted, using GA4’s own key events. Totals are compared with the prior period, and AI visitors’ conversion sits next to your site-wide rate for the same window.

The part most traffic tools skip is the page view. Mentionova lines every published page up with its GA4 traffic, its Search Console clicks and impressions, and the AI citations it earns, so you can see which pages get quoted and which ones get the visits.

Source: mentionova.com/pricing and AI traffic analytics, fetched October 30, 2026.

Mentionova’s FAQ says pages and AI traffic attribution is part of every paid plan, from Starter for brands and Launch for agencies upward. Agency plans start at Launch, $200 a month billed annually ($250 monthly) for 3 client workspaces. Every paid plan starts with a free trial with no card.

Limits

Visits that arrive without a referrer cannot be attributed, so Mentionova reports the figure as a floor, not a ceiling. It does not log AI crawler hits; it measures the people AI answers send. Starter’s visibility tracking covers three engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google), though GA4 referral reporting is not limited to those.

The pricing catch

Starter is $1,188 a year billed annually, more than Peec AI’s Starter at $1,140. The difference buys the agentic tasks that draft fixes for pages that are losing citations, which you only use if you act on the report.

Who should skip it

Teams that only need a raw count of AI visits and nothing else. Ahrefs Web Analytics does that for free.

Why it is #1

A traffic number on its own does not tell you what to change. Mentionova is the only tool here that puts AI visits, landing pages, conversion, Search Console data and the citations behind them in one view, then drafts the fix. Read the Mentionova review and Mentionova pricing.

Goodie

Goodie is an AEO platform that runs research, monitoring, optimization and measurement as one loop. Its AI Traffic Analytics and Revenue Attribution features are aimed at proving AI search ROI.

Best for

Larger brands and ecommerce teams that need AI search revenue, not just sessions, broken down by engine.

How it tracks AI traffic

Goodie integrates with GA4 to identify AI referral sessions from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and more, and breaks them down by model, content type, geography, product category and persona. It pairs those sessions with the citations and mentions behind them, the prompt categories that triggered them and brand versus competitor keyword data.

Revenue Attribution goes a step further. Attributed revenue ties AI referral sessions to conversions through GA4. Influenced revenue models the zero-click demand that shows up as direct traffic or branded search, then checks the model against post-conversion survey data. Goodie says clicks capture less than 13% of what AI search drives, based on its own data.

What each plan includes

PlanPriceModels and prompts
Core$295/mo5 models, 110 prompts
Pro$999/mo8 models, 250 prompts
EnterpriseDemoUp to 14 models

Source: higoodie.com/pricing and AI Traffic Analytics, fetched October 30, 2026.

Goodie says the GA4 integration and direct revenue attribution are on every plan, and Enterprise adds complete revenue attribution with custom modelling. Core includes a 7-day free trial.

Limits

Core visibility tracking covers five engines (ChatGPT, AI Overview, Perplexity, AI Mode and Copilot). Influenced revenue is a model, not a measured count, so treat it as an estimate.

The pricing catch

Core is $3,540 a year at the listed monthly price, about three times Mentionova Starter. Pro jumps to $999 a month.

Who should skip it

Small teams that cannot use revenue modelling yet and just need to see which engines send visits.

Peec AI

Peec AI is an AI search analytics tool with daily tracking and an agent analytics section on every plan.

Best for

Teams that want AI referral counts and bot crawl data alongside daily visibility tracking, at a low entry price.

How it tracks AI traffic

Peec’s plan table lists three agent analytics features on every plan: a crawlability audit of which AI bots your robots.txt allows across 40+ bots, AI referrals (visits arriving on your site from AI assistants), and crawl insights showing which AI bots hit which pages, how often and with which status code.

What each plan includes

PlanPricePrompts and crawl insights
Starter$95/mo50 prompts, 4.5M bot visits
Pro$245/mo150 prompts, 13.5M bot visits
Advanced$495/mo350 prompts, 31.5M bot visits

Source: peec.ai/pricing, fetched October 30, 2026.

Limits

Peec’s pricing page describes AI referrals in one line; it does not show conversion or revenue reporting for those visits on the pages we captured. Crawl insights are capped by bot visits per plan.

The pricing catch

Starter is $1,140 a year, the cheapest paid entry here, but its 50 prompts run out quickly once you track several products or markets.

Who should skip it

Teams that need AI visitors’ conversion rate or revenue in the same report. See Peec AI pricing and Peec AI alternatives.

Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI is an AI search monitoring tool. Its Agent Analytics feature measures the AI bot traffic that classic analytics cannot see.

Best for

SEO teams that want named AI agents, not one anonymous “bot” bucket, and are comfortable adding an integration at the server, edge or CDN.

How it tracks AI traffic

A lightweight integration at your server, edge or CDN classifies every incoming request: OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Gemini, Copilot and the people they send you. Machine fetches and AI-referred visits are classified apart, and a page-level view shows which URLs AI systems fetch and how often. It runs alongside GA4 and your logs and replaces nothing.

What each plan includes

PlanPriceAgent Analytics
Lite$29/moNot included
Standard$189/mo200k events a month
Premium$489/mo1M events a month

Standard also includes 100 search prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and MS Copilot, plus 2,000 API requests and 2,000 MCP requests a month. Premium has 400 prompts.

Limits

Agent Analytics needs access to your server, edge or CDN, which can mean a ticket to engineering. Lite, the $29 plan, does not include it.

The pricing catch

The cheap Otterly plan is not the one you need here. Standard is $2,268 a year at the monthly price.

Who should skip it

Marketers without server or CDN access. See Otterly.AI pricing.

Scrunch

Scrunch is an AI visibility platform whose Agent Traffic feature is part of its Agent Experience Platform.

Best for

Brands that want to see how AI agents interact with their site and split bot traffic by purpose.

How it tracks AI traffic

Agent Traffic breaks down visits from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and more, and separates bot traffic by type (training, indexing and retrieval) so you can find traffic tied to real user prompts. It also shows which pages AI agents rely on most when generating answers about your brand.

What each plan includes

Core$250/mo125 prompts, 4 LLMs, agent traffic
EnterpriseCustom9 LLMs, multi-domain tracking

Source: scrunch.com/pricing and Agent Traffic, fetched October 30, 2026.

Core lists AI Agent / Bot Traffic as included, with 5,000 responses a month and a 7-day free trial. Multi-domain tracking is an Enterprise option.

Limits

Scrunch’s pages focus on agents and bots; they do not describe GA4-based conversion reporting for human AI visitors.

The pricing catch

Core is $3,000 a year for one brand workspace and 4 LLMs.

Who should skip it

Teams whose question is human AI visits and conversions. See Scrunch alternatives.

Profound

Profound is an enterprise AI search platform. Agent Analytics is its product for tracking AI traffic to your site.

Best for

Enterprises with security reviews that want bot analytics built on server logs.

How it tracks AI traffic

Agent Analytics tracks when, how often and which AI bots access your content, and measures how many human visitors convert from AI-driven search. It uses server logs instead of JavaScript trackers, differentiates real AI bots from spoofed crawlers, and lets you compare your AI citation performance against 2 million+ pages in the Profound Network. Profound lists SOC 2 Type II, SSO and role-based access control.

What each plan includes

PlanPriceWhat you get
TrialFree50 prompts daily for 7 days
EnterpriseCustomUp to 9 answer engines

Source: tryprofound.com/pricing and Agent Analytics, fetched October 30, 2026.

Limits

Profound’s pricing page does not say which plan includes Agent Analytics, and log forwarding needs engineering time.

The pricing catch

There is no self-serve paid price; Enterprise is priced through sales. See Profound pricing.

Who should skip it

Small and mid-size teams that want to start this week.

Writesonic

Writesonic is an AI content and visibility platform. Its AI Agent Analytics tracks AI crawlers server side.

Best for

Technical SEO teams that want to find pages returning errors to AI bots.

How it tracks AI traffic

Writesonic tracks every AI crawler visit, every human click-through from AI citations and every page returning errors to AI bots, with no JavaScript on your pages. It classifies bots such as GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and OAI-SearchBot by purpose, lets you block or allow each type, and flags pages returning 403s, 404s and 500s to AI bots.

What each plan includes

Basic$199/mo yearly100 prompts, 3 platforms
Growth$399/mo yearly200 prompts, 3 platforms

Source: writesonic.com/pricing and AI Agent Analytics, fetched October 30, 2026.

Limits

Writesonic’s pricing page does not say which plan includes AI Agent Analytics, so confirm before you buy. The product page offers a 7-day free trial.

The pricing catch

Starter is $948 a year billed annually, but all three self-serve tiers track only ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.

Who should skip it

Teams that want conversion reporting for AI visitors. See Writesonic alternatives.

Ahrefs Web Analytics

Ahrefs Web Analytics is a simple, free Google Analytics alternative from Ahrefs.

Best for

Site owners who want a free count of AI chatbot visits without a new subscription.

How it tracks AI traffic

Ahrefs says Web Analytics shows which AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, drive AI traffic to your site.

What each plan includes

PlanPriceLimit
FreeFree for verified sites1 million events per project a month
PaidAhrefs plansUpgrade as you grow

Source: ahrefs.com/web-analytics, fetched October 30, 2026.

Limits

It is free for websites with verified ownership, and it is an analytics tool, not a visibility tracker: it does not show which prompts or citations sent the visit. For that, Ahrefs sells Brand Radar; see Ahrefs.

The pricing catch

None for the free tier. Past 1 million events a project, you upgrade.

Who should skip it

Teams already happy with their GA4 setup.

Semrush AI Traffic Checker

Semrush’s AI Traffic Checker is a free tool powered by Semrush Traffic Analytics.

Best for

Benchmarking a competitor’s AI traffic, which no GA4 or log-based tool can show you.

How it tracks AI traffic

Enter any domain and it shows estimated monthly traffic from AI platforms, the split by platform (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews), top pages driving AI traffic, AI traffic trends and AI Overviews positions. Semrush estimates AI traffic by modelling how AI platforms cite and link to pages and how often users click, using aggregated browsing data, verified partner data and public sources.

Limits

These are estimates, not your measured visits, and Semrush notes sites with very few AI visits may have limited data. The full report is Semrush Traffic Analytics, a paid product.

The pricing catch

The checker is free; deeper data needs a Semrush subscription. See Semrush.

Who should skip it

Anyone who needs exact numbers for their own site.

How to choose an AI traffic analytics tool

Decide which traffic you mean

If leadership asks “what does AI search send us?”, you need referral attribution: Mentionova, Goodie or Peec AI. If engineering asks “which bots are hitting our servers?”, you need agent analytics: Otterly.AI, Profound, Scrunch or Writesonic. GA4 cannot see bots because AI crawlers do not run JavaScript.

Check the setup path

GA4-based tools connect in minutes. Server, edge, CDN or log-based tools need someone with infrastructure access. Pick the path your team can actually ship.

Ask what the tool does with the visit

A count is the start. Look for landing pages, conversion against your site average, and the citation or prompt that earned the click. That is what turns a chart into a content plan.

Treat every number as a floor

Visits without a referrer cannot be attributed, and many AI answers send no click at all. Semrush notes people often visit later by typing your URL or searching your brand. Use trends, not absolute totals.

How to start measuring AI traffic this week

  1. Open GA4 and look at the Referral channel for sessions from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini referrers, so you have a baseline.
  2. Connect a GA4-based tool (Mentionova or Goodie) to split those sessions by engine and landing page.
  3. Note which landing pages convert above your site average, then check which AI answers cite them.
  4. If you have CDN or server access, add an agent analytics tool to see which bots crawl you and which pages return errors to them.
  5. Re-check every week and compare with the prior period.

For the bigger picture, see our AI search statistics, AI crawler statistics and ChatGPT statistics.

Which should you choose?

Choose Mentionova if you want AI visits from GA4 tied to pages, conversions and citations, with fixes drafted for you. Choose Goodie if you need revenue attribution for a large brand. Choose Peec AI for the cheapest paid plan with referral and crawl data. Choose Otterly.AI, Profound, Scrunch or Writesonic when the question is bots, not people. Start with Ahrefs Web Analytics or the Semrush AI Traffic Checker if you are not ready to pay.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI traffic analytics tool?

Mentionova is our pick for most teams. It reads the GA4 property you already run, splits ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Claude out of the Referral channel, follows each visit to its landing page and conversion, and lines pages up with Search Console clicks and the AI citations they earn. Pages and AI traffic attribution is on every paid plan, from Starter at $99 a month billed annually.

How do I track traffic from ChatGPT?

When someone clicks a cited link in a ChatGPT answer, GA4 usually records the session with a ChatGPT referrer inside the Referral channel. An AI traffic analytics tool reads those referrers, groups them by engine and reports sessions, landing pages and conversions for each one. Visits that arrive without a referrer cannot be attributed, so treat the count as a floor.

Can Google Analytics 4 show AI traffic on its own?

GA4 records the visits, but by default it files ChatGPT and Perplexity sessions under Referral next to partner links and forum posts. Goodie notes GA4 can show AI referrers once you set up the right filters but stops at the visit. The tools on this list add the engine split, the landing pages and the citation that earned the click.

Is there a free AI traffic analytics tool?

Yes. Ahrefs Web Analytics is free for websites with verified ownership, up to 1 million events per project a month, and shows which AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini send traffic. Semrush's AI Traffic Checker is a free estimate for any domain, including competitors. Neither ties visits back to the prompts and citations behind them.

What is the difference between AI referral traffic and AI crawler traffic?

Referral traffic is people who click a link in an AI answer and land on your site. Crawler or agent traffic is the bots themselves, such as GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot, fetching your pages. GA4 sees the first but not the second, because AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. Otterly.AI, Profound, Scrunch, Writesonic and Peec AI measure bot traffic from server, edge or CDN data.

Which AI traffic analytics tools need code on my site?

Mentionova and Goodie read GA4, so there is nothing to add to your site. Agent and crawler analytics work differently. Otterly.AI uses a lightweight integration at server, edge or CDN level, Profound forwards server logs, and Writesonic tracks server side with no JavaScript on your pages.

Why does my AI traffic look so small?

Many AI answers never send a click. Semrush notes people often get the answer in the AI tool and never visit, or visit later by typing your URL or searching your brand, which is not counted as AI traffic. Goodie says clicks capture less than 13% of what AI search drives, based on its own data, which is why it models influenced revenue on top of tracked visits.

How much do AI traffic analytics tools cost?

Ahrefs Web Analytics and the Semrush AI Traffic Checker are free. Paid tools with AI referral tracking start at $95 a month for Peec AI Starter, $99 a month billed annually for Mentionova Starter, $189 a month for Otterly.AI Standard (the first Otterly plan with Agent Analytics), $250 for Scrunch Core and $295 for Goodie Core. Profound Enterprise is custom.

Can I see AI traffic for a competitor's website?

Only as an estimate. Semrush's free AI Traffic Checker estimates monthly AI traffic, the platform split and top pages for any domain, modelled from aggregated browsing data, partner data and public sources. Tools that read your own GA4 or server logs only see your site.

Does AI traffic analytics prove revenue from AI search?

It proves the part that clicks. Mentionova sets AI visitors' conversion rate next to your site-wide rate, and Goodie ties AI referral sessions to conversions and revenue through GA4, then adds modelled influenced revenue checked against post-conversion surveys. Revenue from buyers who saw you in an answer and came back later through direct or branded search stays hard to attribute.
