How much does 1Password cost for individuals?

1Password Individual costs $3.99 per month billed yearly, or $47.88 a year. New customers who subscribe directly on 1Password.com pay $2.99 per month for the first year, which is $35.88. The plan covers 1 user with 1 GB of storage per user and a 14-day free trial.

1Password’s personal pricing FAQ states the regular prices as $3.99 for Individual and $5.99 for Families. The promotion is “available to new 1Password customers subscribing directly through 1Password.com only, for the first year with annual billing.” It does not apply through Google Play, the Apple App Store or other app stores. Budget for the regular price from year two.

Individual includes password generation, autosave and autofill, secure sharing with anyone, Watchtower alerts for weak or compromised credentials, Travel Mode and the 1Password Developer tools (SSH workflows, Git commit signing, CLI and SDKs).

How much does 1Password Families cost?

1Password Families costs $5.99 per month billed yearly, or $71.88 a year, for up to 5 people. The new-customer first-year price is $4.49 per month ($53.88). Families adds unlimited shared vaults, 5 guest accounts for vault sharing and simple admin controls for adding, removing and recovering members.

Per person, Families works out to about $1.20 per month at the regular price when all 5 seats are used. That is the cheapest way to run 1Password if more than one person in a household needs it.

How much does 1Password cost for teams and businesses?

1Password sells two self-serve business plans. Teams Starter Pack is a flat $24.95 per month billed annually ($299.40 a year) for 10 members, with up to 10 more seats at $4.99 each per month. Business is $8.99 per user per month billed annually ($107.88 per user per year), with a 1-user minimum.

Teams Starter Pack

Teams Starter Pack is for teams of 10 to 20 people. The pricing card shows “$2.49 / user” with a “10 users minimum. Up to 20 users” note, which is the $24.95 flat price spread across 10 members. It includes secure sharing, security alerts, role-based permissions, developer tools and 5 guest accounts.

Business

1Password Business adds integrations with Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin, Duo and others, provisioning through Azure AD, Google Workspace, Okta, OneLogin, Rippling and JumpCloud, SIEM event streaming, custom groups and reports, and 20 guest accounts. Every Business user also gets a free Families plan for personal use. Organizations with 101 or more users get personalized training and a dedicated Customer Success Manager.

Enterprise products

1Password’s main pricing page now leads with enterprise products: Unified Access, Enterprise Password Manager, SaaS Manager, Privileged Access and Device Trust. None of them shows a list price. 1Password’s FAQ says Unified Access pricing “is tailored to your organization’s needs” and asks buyers to contact sales for a quote.

A 10-person team pays $299.40 a year on Teams Starter Pack or $1,078.80 a year on Business. At 20 people, Starter Pack costs $898.20 a year and Business costs $2,157.60. Above 20 people, Business is the only self-serve option.

Starter Pack is the better buy for any team of 10 to 20 that does not need SSO or identity-provider provisioning. Teams that already run Okta or Entra ID usually need Business anyway, so the premium buys the integration, not just more seats.

Does 1Password have a free plan or trial?

1Password has no free forever plan. Every self-serve plan (Individual, Families, Teams Starter Pack and Business) has a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and you can cancel anytime.

If you want a password manager that stays free, our free password managers list ranks Bitwarden first. Bitwarden’s free plan includes unlimited logins on unlimited devices.

Does 1Password offer discounts?

Yes. New personal customers get the first-year promotion when they subscribe directly on 1Password.com with annual billing. For businesses, 1Password says it offers discounts for eligible organizations “including nonprofits and journalists,” plus custom volume-based pricing through sales. Monthly billing is available, but the pricing page lists yearly rates.

The personal page labels yearly billing “Save up to 40%” against monthly. 1Password did not show the monthly per-plan figures in our capture, so check the Monthly toggle before you budget a month-to-month plan.

How does 1Password pricing compare to Bitwarden?

1Password costs more than Bitwarden at every tier. 1Password Individual is $3.99 per month billed yearly; Bitwarden Premium is $1.65 per month billed annually ($19.80). 1Password Business is $8.99 per user per month; Bitwarden Teams is $4 and Bitwarden Enterprise is $6 per user per month.

Which 1Password plan should you choose?

Choose Individual if you are one person who wants 1Password’s polish over a free tool. Choose Families once two or more people share logins. Choose Teams Starter Pack for a team of 10 to 20 without SSO needs. Choose Business when you need Okta, Entra ID or SIEM integrations, or more than 20 seats.

The 80/20 call for a small company is Teams Starter Pack at $299.40 a year, which costs less than three Business seats. Move to Business when an identity provider or audit requirement forces it. Our 1Password review covers whether the product is worth the premium over free options.
