Trello pricing has four plans. Free costs $0 for up to 10 collaborators and 10 boards per Workspace. Standard costs $5 per user per month billed annually ($6 monthly). Premium costs $10 per user per month billed annually ($12.50 monthly). Enterprise costs $17.50 per user per month, billed annually at $210 per user per year. How much does Trello cost per user?
Trello costs $0, $5, $10 or $17.50 per user per month, depending on the plan, when billed annually. Monthly billing raises Standard to $6 and Premium to $12.50 per user. Trello lists Enterprise with annual billing. Every normal member or admin in a Workspace counts as a billable user, so the per-seat price multiplies across your whole team.
Trello’s billing rules decide the real bill more than the sticker price does. According to Trello’s pricing FAQ, any normal member or admin added to a Workspace is a billable team member. A guest who sits on more than one board becomes a “Multi-Board Guest” and is billed at the same rate as Standard or Premium Workspace members.
Annual billing is the cheaper path on both paid self-serve plans. Paying monthly costs 20% more on Standard ($6 vs. $5) and 25% more on Premium ($12.50 vs. $10). If you know the tool will stay, switch to annual on day one.
What do you get on each Trello plan?
Each Trello plan adds one clear layer: Free covers personal and small-team Kanban, Standard removes the caps, Premium adds views and admin controls, and Enterprise adds organization-wide governance. The jump that matters most is Standard to Premium, because Premium is where Timeline, Calendar, Table and Dashboard views live.
Trello Free ($0)
Trello Free includes unlimited cards, up to 10 boards per Workspace and up to 10 collaborators per Workspace. It also includes unlimited Power-Ups per board, unlimited storage with a 10MB file limit, and 250 Workspace command runs per month for automation. Mobile apps, two-factor authentication and the Inbox quick-capture feature are included.
Trello Standard ($5 per user per month, annual)
Trello Standard adds unlimited boards and unlimited Workspace collaborators, Custom Fields, advanced checklists, card mirroring, list colors and collapsible lists. The file limit rises to 250MB, and automation rises to 1,000 command runs per month. Standard also adds Trello’s AI features, Planner, single-board guests and saved searches.
Trello Premium ($10 per user per month, annual)
Trello Premium adds the Calendar, Timeline, Table, Dashboard and Map views, plus Workspace-level Table and Calendar views. Automation becomes unlimited. Premium also adds admin and security controls, Workspace-level templates, board Collections, Observers, domain-restricted invites and “simple data export,” which Trello’s comparison table lists only on Premium and Enterprise.
Trello Enterprise ($17.50 per user per month, annual)
Trello Enterprise adds unlimited Workspaces, organization-wide permissions, organization-visible boards, public board management, attachment permissions and Power-Up administration. It includes Atlassian Guard Standard, which Trello says provides SSO and user provisioning, plus 24/7 Enterprise Admin support.
What does Trello actually cost for a team?
A 10-person team pays $600 per year on Trello Standard or $1,200 per year on Premium with annual billing. The same team pays $720 or $1,500 on monthly billing. At the $210 per user per year list price, 50 people on Enterprise would pay $10,500 per year. The table below multiplies Trello’s published list prices across common team sizes.
| Team size | Standard (annual) | Standard (monthly) | Premium (annual) | Premium (monthly) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 user | $60/yr | $72/yr | $120/yr | $150/yr |
| 5 users | $300/yr | $360/yr | $600/yr | $750/yr |
| 10 users | $600/yr | $720/yr | $1,200/yr | $1,500/yr |
| 25 users | $1,500/yr | $1,800/yr | $3,000/yr | $3,750/yr |
| 50 users | $3,000/yr | $3,600/yr | $6,000/yr | $7,500/yr |

Is Trello’s free plan enough?
Trello’s free plan is enough for one person or a team of up to 10 people who need no more than 10 boards. The plan does not cap cards or Power-Ups. Most teams upgrade for one of three reasons: they need an eleventh board, an eleventh collaborator, or more than 250 automation runs per month.
The board cap is the limit most people hit first. Ten boards disappears quickly once each client, project or quarter gets its own board. Downgrading also has a consequence: Trello’s FAQ says a team that drops a paid plan becomes a free Workspace “that can hold 10 boards” after its prepaid period ends.
One correction for readers comparing older guides: Trello’s current pricing page lists “Unlimited Power-Ups per board” on Free. Advice that the free plan allows only one Power-Up per board is out of date.
What hidden costs come with Trello?
Trello’s hidden costs come from billing rules and add-ons rather than surprise fees. The five to check before you buy are Multi-Board Guests, Atlassian Guard, paid partner Power-Ups, the monthly-billing premium, and data export, which Trello’s comparison table lists only on Premium and Enterprise.
- Multi-Board Guests. A guest on two or more boards is billed at the same rate as Standard or Premium Workspace members.
- Atlassian Guard. SAML SSO outside Enterprise requires Atlassian Guard, a separate subscription that Trello says “starts at $4/month/user.” Atlassian’s own Guard pricing page showed Guard Standard at $4.20 per user per month when we checked, so confirm the current rate there.
- Partner Power-Ups. Trello notes that “some Power-Ups by our partners require an additional subscription fee.”
- Monthly billing. Paying monthly adds 20% on Standard and 25% on Premium.
- Data export. Trello’s pricing page lists “Simple data export” only on Premium and Enterprise. If clean exports matter for an eventual migration, check what your plan includes before you commit.
How does Trello pricing compare to Asana and Linear?
Trello Standard is the cheapest paid plan of the three at $5 per user per month, annual. Linear Basic costs $10 and Asana Starter costs $10.99 per user per month, annual. Trello Premium at $10 matches Linear Basic and undercuts Asana Starter, which is the closer feature match because both include timeline views.
| Attribute | Trello | Asana | Linear |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free plan | Up to 10 collaborators and 10 boards per Workspace | Personal plan for up to 2 users | Unlimited members, 2 teams, 250 issues |
| Entry paid plan (annual) | Standard, $5 per user/month | Starter, $10.99 per user/month | Basic, $10 per user/month |
| Entry paid plan (monthly) | $6 per user/month | $13.49 per user/month | |
| Timeline / Gantt | Premium ($10) | Starter ($10.99) | |
| Seat rules | Pay per member | Seats added in increments of 5 between 5 and 30 users | Pay per user |
| 10 users, annual | $600 (Standard) / $1,200 (Premium) | $1,318.80 | $1,200 |

Seat increments change the math for odd-sized teams. A seven-person team on Asana Starter buys 10 seats, which costs $1,318.80 per year. The same seven people cost $840 per year on Trello Premium. Which Trello plan should you choose?
Choose Trello Free if you have 10 or fewer collaborators and 10 or fewer boards. Choose Standard as soon as you hit either cap. Choose Premium only if your team plans by dates and needs Timeline or Calendar views. Choose Enterprise only if IT needs organization-wide permissions and SSO across the company.
The 80/20 call is Standard. Standard removes the two caps that actually block teams, and it costs half of Premium. Premium is a reporting upgrade, so buy it for the people who build timelines, not by default for everyone.
If you find yourself paying for Premium to get sprint-style planning, the tool is the wrong shape. Frequently asked questions
Is Trello free?
Yes. Trello Free costs $0 and includes unlimited cards, unlimited Power-Ups per board, and up to 10 boards and 10 collaborators per Workspace. It also includes 250 automation command runs per month. You pay only when you need more boards, more collaborators, or advanced features such as Custom Fields and Timeline view.
How much is Trello Premium per month?
Trello Premium costs $10 per user per month when billed annually, or $12.50 per user per month when billed monthly. A 10-person team therefore pays $1,200 per year on annual billing or $1,500 per year on monthly billing. Trello also offers a free Premium trial for a Workspace.
What is the difference between Trello Standard and Premium?
Trello Standard removes the free plan's board and collaborator caps and adds Custom Fields, card mirroring and 1,000 automation runs per month. Trello Premium adds Calendar, Timeline, Table, Dashboard and Map views, unlimited automation, admin controls and simple data export. Premium costs twice as much as Standard on annual billing.
Does Trello charge for guests?
Yes, in one case. Trello bills a guest who belongs to more than one board in a Workspace as a Multi-Board Guest, at the same rate as Standard or Premium Workspace members. Standard includes single-board guests. Check your guest list before renewal, because recurring client guests can quietly add paid seats.
How much does Trello Enterprise cost?
Trello Enterprise costs $17.50 per user per month, billed annually as $210 per user per year. It includes Atlassian Guard Standard and 24/7 Enterprise Admin support. Trello asks Enterprise buyers to contact sales, so confirm your seat count and any volume pricing with them before you budget.
Can I use Trello Standard or Premium by myself?
Yes. Trello's pricing FAQ says Standard and Premium are designed for all teams, even teams of one. To upgrade, you create a Workspace and upgrade that Workspace. A single user pays $60 per year for Standard or $120 per year for Premium on annual billing.
What happens to my boards if I cancel Trello Premium?
Your Workspace keeps its paid features until the end of the prepaid period, according to Trello's FAQ. After that, it becomes a free Workspace that can hold 10 boards. Teams with more than 10 boards should archive or consolidate boards before the downgrade takes effect.
