Asana Pricing: Free Plan, Starter $10.99 per User, Advanced $24.99

Asana pricing as of October 2026: Personal is free, Starter costs $10.99 per user per month billed annually, Advanced $24.99. Plan limits, team costs and rival prices.

Start on Asana’s free Personal plan, then pay $10.99 per user per month for Starter, and skip Advanced at $24.99 unless you need portfolios, goals or resource management. Those prices assume annual billing; monthly billing costs $13.49 and $30.49. Our view: Starter covers most small teams, and Enterprise is sales-only.

Is Asana free?

Yes. Asana Personal costs $0 and is free forever, per Asana’s pricing page on October 4, 2026. It is built for one or two people managing personal projects and lists 2 users, so it works for solo work or a pair, not a team.

Personal includes:

  • 2 users
  • Unlimited tasks and projects
  • List, board, and calendar views
  • Unlimited storage, 100MB max per file
  • Status updates
  • Time tracking with integrations

Our view: the free plan is generous on volume and tight on people. The only hard wall is the second seat. For comparison, Linear gives unlimited members free but caps you at 250 issues, and Trello is free for up to 10 collaborators per Workspace.

How much does Asana cost per user?

Starter costs $10.99 per user per month on annual billing and $13.49 on monthly billing. Advanced costs $24.99 annual and $30.49 monthly. Over a year, that is $131.88 per Starter seat and $299.88 per Advanced seat. Enterprise has no public price; Asana asks you to contact sales.

The jump from Starter to Advanced is $14.00 per seat per month, more than the entire Starter price. Move to Advanced only if the whole team needs its extra features.

What does each Asana plan include?

Each tier adds to the one below it. These are the features Asana names first on each plan card. Personal is covered above.

What usage limits come with each Asana plan?

Asana’s plan cards print usage quotas next to some features. These limits decide when a team has to move up a tier.

PlanFeatureLimit
StarterAI Teammates and Asana DashIncludes 5 requests per user per month, up to 50 requests per account
StarterAI StudioIncludes 50K credits per billing account per month
AdvancedAI Teammates and Asana DashIncludes 5 requests per user per month, up to 50 requests per account
AdvancedAI StudioIncludes 75K credits per billing account per month
EnterpriseAI Teammates and Asana DashIncludes 5 requests per user per month, up to 250 requests per account
EnterpriseAI StudioIncludes 200K credits per billing account per month

Source: asana.com/pricing, fetched October 4, 2026. Prices in USD. Limits as printed on each plan card (Asana’s “ber billing account” typo corrected to “per”).

Our view: do not pick a tier for the AI quota alone. Starter and Advanced share the same 50-request account cap on AI Teammates and Asana Dash, so only Enterprise raises it, to 250. The Starter-to-Advanced difference is AI Studio credits, 50K versus 75K per billing account per month.

Does Asana charge less for annual billing?

Yes. Asana’s pricing toggle advertises “Save up to 18%” for yearly billing. Starter drops from $13.49 to $10.99 per seat, a saving of $2.50 per seat per month. Advanced drops from $30.49 to $24.99, a saving of $5.50.

Annual billing commits you for twelve months, so start monthly if your headcount is still changing. Switch to annual once the team size settles.

Which Asana plan should you pick?

  • Pick Personal if you work alone or in a pair: the free plan lists 2 users.
  • Pick Starter once a third person joins or you need no user seat limits, Timeline and Gantt views, or reporting dashboards. Budget $10.99 per seat per month on annual billing.
  • Pick Advanced only for unlimited portfolios, goals, resource management or approvals and proofing. It costs $14.00 more per seat per month than Starter.
  • Talk to sales about Enterprise only if you need SAML authentication or user provisioning (SCIM).

How does Asana pricing compare with Linear and Trello?

Linear’s first paid tier, Basic, costs $10 per user per month, so it is $0.99 cheaper than Asana Starter. Trello’s first paid tier, Standard, costs $5 per user per month, which is $5.99 cheaper than Asana Starter.

AsanaPersonal, $0Starter, $10.99/user/mo
LinearFree, $0Basic, $10/user/mo
TrelloFree, $0Standard, $5/user/mo

Source: linear.app/pricing, fetched October 14, 2026; trello.com/pricing, fetched October 14, 2026. Prices in USD. Annual billing.

A 10-person team pays $600.00 a year on Trello Standard, $1,200.00 on Linear Basic and $1,318.80 on Asana Starter. Our view: pay Asana’s premium only if Timeline and Gantt views, reporting dashboards and unlimited automations are on your checklist. If you only need boards, Trello costs less than half as much. Engineering teams tracking issues should look at Linear first. For a wider field, see our Asana alternatives and the best project management tools.

How much does Asana cost for a whole team?

A 5-person team pays $659.40 a year on Starter with annual billing. The same team pays $1,499.40 on Advanced.

Team sizeStarter ($10.99/user/mo)Advanced ($24.99/user/mo)
5 users$659.40/yr$1,499.40/yr
10 users$1,318.80/yr$2,998.80/yr
20 users$2,637.60/yr$5,997.60/yr

tools8020 calculation from Asana’s list prices on October 4, 2026. Excludes tax and add-ons.

Starter has no user seat limits, so totals scale in a straight line. Choosing Advanced for ten people costs $2,998.80 against $1,318.80, a difference of $1,680.00 a year. That buys portfolios, goals, resource management and approvals. Be sure you will use them.

Is Asana worth paying for?

Start on Personal. Move to Starter only when you hit a limit the free plan enforces, since every seat costs $10.99 a month after that. Advanced at $24.99 is for teams that need the features listed above; most small teams do not.

Our verdict: Starter is a fair price for what it includes, but not the cheapest on the market. Read the full Asana review for how the product holds up in daily use before committing seats.
