How much does Notion cost per member?

Notion costs $10 per member per month on Plus and $20 per member per month on Business. That works out to $120 and $240 per member per year before tax. Free costs nothing. Enterprise pricing is not published on the pricing page.

Notion’s help center and pricing FAQ describe both monthly and annual billing. Your invoice multiplies the plan price by the number of members in the workspace at renewal, plus any prorated mid-cycle changes. Count members, not every guest on a shared page, before you budget.

What does each Notion plan include?

Notion’s plans differ mainly in collaboration limits, AI, admin controls and connections. Free is enough to evaluate the product. Plus removes the collaborative block ceiling. Business adds the AI workspace features and SSO. Enterprise adds identity, audit and compliance controls.

Free

Notion Free costs $0 and includes a trial of Notion AI, basic forms, basic sites, Notion Calendar and databases with subtasks, dependencies and custom properties. It is built for individuals organizing personal projects. Teams that share heavily will hit collaborative block limits and need Plus.

Plus

Notion Plus costs $10 per member per month. It adds unlimited collaborative blocks, unlimited file uploads, unlimited charts, custom forms, custom sites and basic connections such as Slack and Google Drive. Plus still lists only a trial of Notion AI, not the full Business AI suite.

Business

Notion Business costs $20 per member per month and is marked Recommended on the pricing page. It adds Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search (beta), SAML SSO, granular database permissions, private teamspaces, domain verification and premium connections such as GitHub and Asana. This is the plan for teams that want AI inside the workspace.

Enterprise

Notion Enterprise is priced on request. It adds zero data retention with LLM providers when using Notion AI, SCIM user provisioning, advanced security controls, an audit log, a customer success manager, security and compliance connections (DLP, SIEM), domain management and advanced connections.

How much does Notion cost for a whole team?

A 5-person team pays $600 per year on Notion Plus. A 10-person team pays $2,400 per year on Business. A 50-person team pays $12,000 per year on Business. All figures use Notion’s list prices before tax or credit packs.

The upgrade from Plus to Business costs $120 per member per year. For a 10-person team, that is $1,200 per year for Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, SSO and private teamspaces. If those features are load-bearing, the premium is easy to justify. If you only needed unlimited blocks, Plus is enough.

Is Notion’s free plan enough?

Notion Free is enough to try the product and run personal projects. It is rarely enough for a shared company wiki. Collaborative block limits on Free are the usual reason teams upgrade, and Plus at $10 per member per month is the fix.

If you only need a private notebook and never share, Free can last. The moment two or three people edit the same workspace daily, budget for Plus.

What hidden costs come with Notion?

Notion’s main extras are Custom Agents credits, custom domains on Sites, and the jump to Business when AI and SSO matter. None of these are buried, but they do change the real bill.

  • Custom Agents. Free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits, per the pricing page.
  • Notion AI allowances. Business and Enterprise include a usage allowance for certain AI features, per Notion’s AI FAQs. Premium models can spend Notion credits once you turn them on.
  • Custom domains. $8 per month per domain billed annually, or $10 monthly, to connect a domain and remove Notion branding from a Site.
  • Member count. Notion charges for members in the workspace. Clean up unused accounts before renewal.

How does Notion pricing compare to Coda?

Notion Plus at $10 per member per month is cheaper on list price than Coda Pro at $12 per month billed annually ($15 monthly), per both vendors on October 4, 2026. Notion Business at $20 also undercuts Coda Business at $33 annually ($40 monthly). Coda bills Doc Makers rather than every editor, so a wiki-heavy team with many free editors can flip the comparison.

Price is rarely the only decision. Our Coda vs Notion comparison covers editor fit and database depth. For the wider field, see note-taking tools.

Which Notion plan should you choose?

Choose Free for personal use. Choose Plus once collaborative limits block the team. Choose Business when you need Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, SSO or private teamspaces. Choose Enterprise only when security reviews require SCIM, audit logs or zero data retention with LLM providers.

The 80/20 call for a small startup is Plus at $10 per member per month. It removes the limit that hurts, shared collaborative blocks, for $120 per member per year. Business is worth its extra $120 per member per year when AI meeting notes and SSO are part of how the team works.
