What does Tally’s free plan include?

Tally’s free plan includes unlimited forms and unlimited submissions, with no time limit. Its pricing page says the free tier stays free “as long as you stay within our fair usage guidelines.” Most features that rival form builders charge for are on the free plan.

The free plan includes:

  • Unlimited forms and unlimited submissions
  • Payment collection, signatures and file uploads
  • Conditional logic and calculations, answer piping and redirects on completion
  • A custom thank-you page and email notifications to yourself
  • Duplicate-submission prevention, password-protected forms, and closing forms on a limit or date
  • 45+ languages with right-to-left support
  • Integrations with Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier and Make, plus webhooks

What are the free plan’s limits?

The free plan has three practical limits. Files uploaded through a form are capped at 10 MB each. Your forms carry Tally branding. And the fair use policy applies: Tally says it will reach out about a custom plan if you consistently collect high volumes, which it lists as 50,000 submissions a month, 100 GB of file uploads a month or 500 GB of total storage, or 50,000 email notifications a month.

“Consistently” matters here. Tally’s policy says occasional spikes are fine; it means high volumes three to four months in a row.

How much does Tally Pro cost?

Tally Pro costs $29 per month on monthly billing or $290 per year on yearly billing, per Tally’s help center. Yearly billing works out to about $24.17 a month, which the pricing page rounds to $24. Paying monthly for a full year costs $348, so yearly billing saves $58, the “2 months off” Tally advertises.

Pro adds:

  • Branding and domains: remove Tally branding, host forms on your own (sub)domain, send email notifications from your own domain and customize the link preview (OG image, favicon, title and description).
  • Teams: invite unlimited team members, with workspaces and folders to manage access.
  • Design: advanced customization options and custom CSS.
  • Data and analytics: partial submissions, form visit analytics, drop-off analytics, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel.
  • Limits removed: no 10 MB cap on uploaded files, and 30 days of form version history.

How much does Tally Business cost?

Tally Business costs $89 per month on monthly billing or $890 per year on yearly billing. That is about $74.17 a month on yearly billing, shown as $74 on the pricing page. Paying monthly for a year costs $1,068, so yearly billing saves $178.

Business includes every Pro feature, plus:

  • Data retention control: automatically delete submissions after a set period to meet privacy rules.
  • Email verification: confirm respondents’ email addresses.
  • Longer version history: restore a form from up to 90 days ago instead of 30.

Tally’s pricing page lists “More to come” under Business, so the plan’s feature list is still growing.

Which Tally plan should you choose?

Stay on Free unless a specific Pro feature is blocking you. Free covers unlimited forms and submissions, payments and logic. Upgrade to Pro when you need your own branding or domain, a team workspace, partial submissions or files larger than 10 MB. Choose Business only if you must enforce data retention or verify respondent emails.

Fillout Starter costs $15 per month billed annually ($180 a year), or $228 a year if you pay monthly, about $19 a month. It includes 2,000 responses a month, and branding removal sits on its Pro plan. Jotform Bronze costs $34 per month billed annually and raises the free limits to 25 forms and 1,000 monthly submissions.

Pick Fillout if you want unlimited seats on a cheap paid plan and can live with response caps. Pick Jotform if you need HIPAA-enabled features, which its pricing page lists on the Gold plan. For everyone else, Tally’s free plan is the one to beat. Our Tally review covers fit beyond price, and the forms category ranks the alternatives.
